9/3/07 - Onward Ho...
Paradise Hotel was a fabulous experience. No show has challenged me as much or left me so exhausted.
The show received different audience reactions every night. Some walked out mid-performance while others sat in the audience ten minutes after its finish. Some laughed through the entire show, while others sat with jaws dropped to the floor. Some were rude and others more supportive than any other.
George is hands-down the best director I have ever worked with - his enthusiasm for the production, confidence in our abilities, and creativity kept me going excitedly through extreme exhaustion. And my cast was absolutely fabulous. I love everyone of them - they were all gorgeous, extremely talented, and absolutely wonderful people.
I can't put words to my gratitude at being involved in this production. It took a Strongbow and a lot of pumping up before I felt able to put myself on stage each night (being a sex symbol on stage was a new experience for me); however, I would not exchange this experience for anything in the world. I don't believe I will ever see or take part in another like it.
My next production, Frankenstein Incarnate: The Passions of Mary Shelley has already started workshopping. This will be my first all-women production and I think will be very engaging. The show, a world premiere, will play 10/26-11/17. Full rehearsals start up in late September, so I have a bit of a break and plan to use it to my fullest.
